Information And Ideas Wanted

TheBrandDomains is interested from hearing from any brand domain applicants who wish to share ideas and strategies particularly when relevant to all brand domain holders.

As an example, it will be collectively beneficial for all the brand domain applicants to follow certain conventions. This should result in a valuable synergy as the brand domains emerge as a powerful and authentic "asset class". The more successful members, the better.

For example, the home page should always be Home.brand and the search page should always be Search.brand.

In this way, consumers all over the world will be able to intuitively go to or or for info, rather than receiving an error message like "Your page does not exist."

(Imagine if Canon used, while Ford used and IBM used for their information pages.)

Of course, companies can have additional duplicate home pages using other words or other languages — but the principle of every company using the convention of Home.brand is collectively in everyone's interest.

Similarly, there are sure to be other ideas and conventions that the dot brands can adopt pro-actively for everyone's benefit.

TheBrandDomains is a wholly independent site dedicated to providing high level information and analysis of the coming dot brands. The brand domains look set to have a significant impact on the internet and will come to be seen as a very significant and distinct segment of the web.

It was created by domain name expert and domain investor Dave Tyrer, the owner of the domain sales sites and

Dave also owns other domain related sites such as — an overview of the whole new gTLD launch program, and — which is campaigning against the proposed monopolistic closed generic domain TLDs. (This threat to internet commerce and freedom is briefly mentioned on this site's Generics page). The next domain related project is already being planned.
